A zero day. A day full of rest. That’s exactly what I tried to accomplish, but there’s always so much to do in town. I started the morning with laundry and gear chores. I wanted to dry and clean out the tent while the sun was still shining.
We’d had lightning and thunderstorms the night before and from the forecast it seemed like they would return sometime today. I worked on a few vlogs and ate lunch where we stayed. Then it was time. Time for what I had been waiting for all day – time to relax! I spent way too much time on YouTube in the afternoon, and enjoyed lazing about. Once the hunger pangs started, I got up and headed to the gear store in town before it closed.
Dinner was tacos and fries at the taqueria in town. Dang, were they delicious! If you’re ever in Hot Springs, definitely checkout the taco spot. I had gone to Vinyl Pies Pizza the night before and their food was amazing, too.

After about an hour in town, I returned to our hideaway and perused a book on wildflowers that was sitting in a bookshelf. If you can’t tell from my blog posts, I love looking at the wildflowers on trail. There are so many different species to spot, all of them unique and beautiful in their own ways. Spotting flowers I’ve never seen before is a fun game to play that keeps me occupied and appreciating the beauty around me. Trillium and Showy orchid are among the ones that have caught my eye the most.

Later in the evening, I worked on the blog a bit. I didn’t get done nearly as much as I wanted to, but, hey, that’s how it goes on trail. There’s only so much time I have outside of hiking and being on trail and it always goes so quickly.
Tonight, we’re laying by the fire and enjoying another dry evening.
And that’s day 33.
